Vocab Master Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Vocab Master collects, uses, stores, and protects information when children and families use the app.
Information We Collect
Vocab Master is designed to collect only what is needed to operate the learning experience and parent controls.
- Learning progress, such as completed rounds, correct answers, XP, streaks, selected vocabulary tier, mastered words, and game history.
- Profile settings entered in the app, such as a display name and selected avatar.
- Parent control settings, such as blocked app selections, unlock goals, unlock durations, and parent PIN verification data.
- Optional parent email information if a parent chooses an email-based PIN feature.
- Crash, diagnostic, and performance information collected through Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics.
- Optional issue report text and an optional diagnostic bundle if a user chooses to attach one when reporting a problem.
Parent Controls and App Blocking
On Android, Vocab Master can use an Accessibility Service to detect when a blocked app is opened and show the Vocab Master parent lock screen until the selected learning goal is completed or a parent unlocks access. The Accessibility Service is used only for parent-controlled app blocking and unlock enforcement.
When enabled, Vocab Master detects the name of the app currently opened so it can decide whether to show the parent lock screen for apps a parent chooses to block. Vocab Master does not read screen text, messages, keystrokes, passwords, payment information, or other app content, and does not share Accessibility data.
How We Use Information
- To save learning progress and app settings.
- To operate parent-selected app unlock goals and PIN-protected controls.
- To troubleshoot crashes, bugs, and user-reported issues.
- To understand app stability and improve the learning experience.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising in the app.
Crash Reports and Diagnostic Bundles
Vocab Master uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports, non-fatal error reports, and app stability logs. If a user chooses to attach a diagnostic bundle to an issue report, the bundle may include app version, device model, Android version, current app screen, and similar troubleshooting details. The app redacts email addresses and long number sequences from diagnostic text before submitting it.
Children's Privacy
Vocab Master is intended for family learning use. Children should use parent controls only under parent or guardian supervision. The app does not ask children to provide email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, or other direct contact information. Parents can contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information associated with their family.
Data Storage and Security
Learning progress and parent control settings are stored locally on the device unless a feature specifically sends information to Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, or issue reporting. Parent PINs are not stored as plain text. We use reasonable safeguards to protect app data, but no app or network transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Third-Party Services
Vocab Master uses Firebase services provided by Google, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
